089-F05-657 8x60R Steyr Gueddes Falling Block “Boer” Service Rifle
Boer war issue. The 32″ (813mm) barrel with a plain blade front sight and a ladder rear sight, bore is good. Left side of action stamped with ‘M1885 Steyr 1886″ in a ring around ‘CE. W.G’. The Portuguese army ordered the rifle, never took delivery and the bulk of them ended up in the hands of the Boer forces. Rifle has the customary strengthening screws on either side of the action tang, has a few light dings and scratches to the woodwork and is in fairly good original condition.
