Manufactured 1938 with a 5″ barrel and chequered wooden grips with the Colt logo to them. Revolver is interesting in that carries both British Military [WD] acceptance/inspection stamps and also Birmingham commercial proof-markings. Barrel is marked “Police Positive .38 Special” but frame is marked “380” indicating that the cylinder was chambered for the British .38 military round. The British purchasing commission acquired whatever was to be had at the commencement of WW2. Very good condition.
