100-F05-424 .577/450 Martini-Henry Type 1 “OVS” By P. Webley & Son

Webley supplied the Free State with 1 500 Martinis similar to the standard British MK2 pattern rifles. The actions seem to have been made-up of ex WD parts and they are marked:
1.) “Martini Patent” to right side of receiver.
2.) “P.Webley & Son Birmingham” on left side of receiver.
3.) “O.V.S” over serial number to left front of receiver.
4.) “Winged Bullet” Webley trademark to knox form.
5.) “OVS marking to butt.
Rifle is good original condition and complete with clearing rod. Scarce. (Start Bid : R8500 Hi Estimate: R12500)
