Built by W.J.Jeffery Co. Ltd on a standard M98 Mauser action with a 3-leaf rear sight, barrel sling swivel and Hi-viz insert to original fore-sight. Barrel is marked to “W.J.Jeffery & Co. Ltd. 9 Golden Square London.W.” London proof marks to barrel. Serial number indicates that the rifle was made between 1948 and 1953 in London. Standard M98 action with stippled top to receiver. Rifle is fitted with a synthetic stock with a dappled dark green finish to it. Rifle is in a very good matt refinished condition with clear markings to name and proof stamps. The rifles was acquired from Zimbabwean Professional hunter Lon Donny in 2024 shortly before his passing. Good bore. This rifle could readily be put back into original configuration with the correct profile walnut stock. (Start Bid : R35000 Hi Estimate: R50000)
