100-B01-028 .75cal “SRG” Percussion Rifle

Full-stock to 39″ (990,60mm) barrel, East India Company “EIC” rampant lion marking to lockplate, brass trigger-guard and buttplate. Includes loading rod. Unusual “SRG” Southern Rhodesia marking to both sides of butt. The Southern Rhodesia Government existed from 1923 to 1965 and one understands that only the native chiefs were allowed to own firearms. The SRG approval for firearms ownership was issued by the district commissioner and the firearm was thus clearly marked to signify lawful possesion. The fore-end of the rifle has been shortened and then had a section added back onto it. Good overall condition. (Start Bid : R2500 Hi Estimate: R3750)
