090-F005-291 -.45-70gov Springfield “Trapdoor” Model 1873 Service Rifle
Full-stock to 32 5/8″ (828,67mm) barrel, serial no. 274451 which falls into the 1879 range, case hardened breech and tang, two piece trigger guard. Commonly encountered on the rifle is what appears to be a “US Mod 1878” marking on the breech block, this is merely a deeply struck “1873” that appears to be the date when it is fact “1873”. Good original condition overall.
