089-D01-271 .38s&w Colt Official Police 5″ Revolver

In 1941 the British purchasing commission in America placed an order with Colt for the Official Police revolver in 38s&w. Only 18250 were supplied and each was given an additional order serial number by Colt: This is number 1215. By 1941 the British .380 had a 173gr jacketed bullet, rather than the original 200gr lead one. Colt marked the guns 38-200, number 1215 is mechanically excellent, but the finish is worn in places and the checkering of the wooden stock plates is largely worn off. The pistol has post-war Birmingham commercial proof marks.
