Boer war issue. The 32″ (813mm) barrel with a plain blade front sight and a ladder rear sight, bore is good. Left side of action stamped with “M1885 Steyr 1886” in a ring around ‘CE. W.G’. The Portuguese army ordered the rifle, never took delivery and the bulk of them ended up in the hands of the Boer forces.
