085A-F03-004-12ga. Charles Hellis S/S Shotgun – Cased
Leather case lid marked to “Major A.J. Godley R.D. Fusiliers”. Leather “Charles & Hellis & Sons” trade inside lid. Steel 30″ full & 1/4 choked barrels which are also marked to Hellis. Fair bores with some light pitting to them. Side plate to boxlock ejector action. Straight grip butt would appear to be an early replacement with a 14,5″ L.O.P. Shotgun has an invoice in the case dated 1992 from Craig Klintworth reflecting a R3100 refurbishing cost. Fair overall condition. The case is most probably worth more than the gun. The firm was founded in 1894 at 21 Shrewsbury Road London and was acquired by Fred Buller in 1983 and incorporated with Frederick Beesley.
