078A-F035 – 6.5x58mmport Vergeiro Mod 1904 Mauser Service Rifle

Survivor of the German South West campaign 1914/15, rifle carries Crest of both Juan Carlos I and UDF ownership stamps. The Portuguese donated 20 000 of these rifles for use by the SA troops who invaded German South West Africa in 1914/15. These rifles were subsequently given to the troops who participated in the invasion and represent the only remaining 6,5mm M1904’s in the world today as the Portuguese converted all of their rifles to 8mm K98 configuration in 1938/9. Good original condition.
