089-D02-349 .380 Tranter Double Action Revolver – Cased Pre-1898

In manufacturer’s mahogany case with blue velvet lining & oil bottle. A solid frame, double-action revolver with octagonal barrel of 4,5″ (114mm), one-piece chequered wooden grips and an ejector rod mounted below the barrel. Ca.1870. Side of frame marked “Tranter’s Patent”, bottom of barrel is marked with what one assumes is a 1937 FCA “Jan Smuts” number. Barrel still has a considerable % of gloss blue to it, finish to frame is dull greyish-brown colour. Revolver is still in what can be described as a “good original condition”.
