An “Elephant” gun with a 25″/640mm octagonal barrel, sporting half-stock and steel buttplate. Rifle has a double trigger assembly, steel triggerguard, under-rib to barrel which is marked to “Bentley & Playfair 20 High Holborn” and engraved lock plate which is marked “Bentley & Playfair”. Well figured walnut stock with chequered straight grip and German silver nosecap. Chequering has been professionally “refreshed”, damascus barrel still has a considerable amount of finish remaining. Overall good original condition.
