Rifled full-stock barrel of 29″. Grip and action of rifle have been bound with raw-hide to prevent damage to the most susceptible part of the rifle. This was a common practise with many early big-game hunters in SA. Single blade rear sight and foresight. Engraved hammer & lock marked to “Marsey London”. Double set triggers, squared back brass triggerguard, brass butt plate with elongated tang to it. Brass pipes to fore-end. Chequered wrist and cheekpiece to stock. A typical early South African big-game, close quarters hunting rifle in good original condition.
